1. Who We Are

MarketPulse ("we", "us", or "our") is the data controller responsible for the MarketPulse Android application and the website at alertsmarketpulse.com. For any privacy-related enquiries, contact us at alert.marketpulse@gmail.com.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Account data — your email address, used to create and identify your account.
• Device token — a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token used solely to deliver push notifications to your device.
• Alert configurations — the alert settings you create within the app (asset symbols, indicator parameters, thresholds).
• Subscription status — purchase and subscription state managed through Google Play Billing.

We do not collect payment card details. All billing is handled by Google Play.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Authenticate your account and provide access to the MarketPulse service.
• Evaluate your configured alert conditions against real-time market data.
• Deliver push notifications when an alert condition is triggered.
• Verify and manage your subscription entitlements via Google Play Billing.
• Respond to your support enquiries submitted through our contact form.

We do not sell your personal data, nor use it for advertising or analytics profiling.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data on the basis of contract performance (to provide the service you signed up for) and legitimate interests (to maintain the security and reliability of the platform). Where required, we rely on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all personal data (email address, FCM token, alert configurations, notification history) is permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated statistics that cannot be linked back to you may be retained indefinitely.

6. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate MarketPulse:

• Google Play Billing — subscription and payment management. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — push notification delivery. Governed by Firebase's Privacy Policy.
• Market data provider — real-time stock and crypto price data. We do not share personal data with our data provider.

7. Your Rights (GDPR & applicable laws)

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data (see our Delete Account page).
• Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Restriction / Objection — restrict or object to certain types of processing.

8. Data Security

All data is transmitted over encrypted TLS connections. Data at rest is stored on access-controlled, industry-standard secured servers. We apply the principle of least privilege to limit internal access to personal data.

9. Children's Privacy

MarketPulse is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of MarketPulse after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
